Marines' New Ride Rolls Out Years Late

USMC Growler - Available to Marine units for the bargain basement price of $1,078,000 each

This is the epitome of DoD waste. An ATV for $1 million each to tow 120 mortars. How about the Marines move to 60mm mortars? How about DoD invest in training light infantry troops to use horses, mules, or donkeys, on the mountains of Afghanistan? That would never happen because there isn't any money for research and development of genetically engineered super-horses, super-mules, or super-donkeys, that can travel at 45 miles per hour. Foot soldiers don't need to go 45 miles per hour in the mountains - hence the feasibility of using animals.
